79-year-old injured – while parking: car drove into house wall

An accident ended today in St. Radegund near Graz with a serious injury to her lower leg: a 79-year-old wanted to park her car, but it started to roll and she lost control of the steering wheel, crashing into a house wall. The driver had previously tried to jump out of the car but was unable to open the door as it was pushed shut by a flagpole.

The woman from Graz arrived in St. Radegund around 3:25 pm and then wanted to park her car in a parking lot. Somehow she failed to stop the vehicle, it rolled towards the wall of the house. The pensioner tried to jump out of the car with the presence of mind, but the door did not open all the way due to a flagpole and she was trapped with her foot.

The woman suffered a serious lower leg injury and had to be transported by ambulance to the LKH Graz.
