Use of animals – 30 meters crashed: mountain rescuers rescue four-legged friends

Date:

Animal use for the mountain rescue service Mayrhofen in the Tyrolean Zillertal: The four-legged “Enno” had fallen from a climb of about 30 meters over steep terrain and was unable to get up. Emergency services were eventually able to bring the dog back to safe ground using a basket stretcher.

This great holiday walk with mistress and master ended almost fatally for “Enno”. The four-legged friend was on the hiking trail from Astegg to Burgstall with his owners and kept pulling on the leash.

Fall over steep terrain
“As a result, the German holiday couple Bettina and Frank hung their darling on a leash, after which it came off the narrow path and fell about 30 meters over steep, impassable terrain,” says Andreas Eder of the mountain rescue service.

The regular holidaymakers in the Zillertal acted correctly, made an emergency call and asked for professional help. Five members of the Mayrhofen mountain rescue team then approached and were able to gently pull “Enno” back onto the trail using a basket stretcher.

Returned home unharmed
Fortunately, the four-legged friend survived the adventure unharmed. On Saturday, after an exciting summer holiday in the Zillertal, he and his mistress left on their journey home to the Sauerland.
