“Dramatic use” – Bad Fire in Dresden High -Rise: Two Deaths

The Brandbrigade was warned shortly before noon and called to the Johanstadt district at the Elbe. From afar, a “large, black column of smoke” was seen over the 15 floors of tall buildings, explained, Michael Klahre, spokesperson for the Dresden Fire Brigade. The entire building was cleaned up, according to the information, around 40 people were temporarily accompanied in a bus from the Dresden Transport Company and Medical Care. Initially there were no further injuries until noon, said the spokesperson for the fire brigade.

After the fire was removed, the building was freed from the toxic fire smoke with ventilation devices. Moreover, the extent to which adjacent apartments and floors are influenced by the extinguishing of water or flue gas. From the first to the ninth floor, the residents of the house can already return to their apartments. How the fire broke out is still unclear.
