In the meantime, the US is represented by Rubio, national security adviser Mike Waltz and the special American envoy for the Midden -Oost, Steve Witkoff.
This is the first meeting between a Russian Foreign Minister and a State Secretary for the US State since that in January 2022, a month before the start of the war, between Lavrov and his counterpart Antony shine.
