A terrible work accident in the Trauner district of St. Martin demanded the lives of two employees on Tuesday morning. The two dived into a lift shaft together with a third colleague – who came with small injuries.
At 11.20 am the emergency services were called to a construction site in St. Martin at Traun with the keyword “People in Lift Shaft”. According to the police, two men had worked in a lift shaft on the third floor and held it on secure wooden planks. Suddenly the shelves broke between the two men, after which the two rushed to a colleague who continued to work.
Died in the hospital
A 51-year-old from Linz still collapsed with his serious injuries. A 29-year-old Trauner was brought to the Medcampus in Linz with serious injuries, but he died there in the afternoon. The third party (25) may have been very lucky and was taken to the UKH to Linz with minor injuries.
Shocked colleagues guided
The rescue workers were on site with a large contingent and took care of the shocked colleagues of the two victims, some of whom had to view the tragedy with their own eyes. A total of 20 people were provided by the crisis intervention team.
The exact course of the accident is still the subject of police investigations.
