They are quickly prepared and are full of instant noodles. But they also contain too much fat, salt, flavor enhancers and stabilizers. This shows a test of the magazine “Consumer”. A third of the pasta investigated is even “less satisfying”.
The magazine “Consumer” has investigated Instant Pasta from well -known brands such as Maggi or Knorr and has come to a sobering result. According to the testers, the noodles are no more than a fast and cheap snack.
These investigated the ingredients and packaging of the cups. Eight of the products investigated “did well”. Seven of the 21 cups, however, are “less satisfying”, informs the Chamber of Labor (AK) Upper Austria.
What is in the Instant Noodles?
The magazine “Consumer” has clearly viewed the ingredients and nutritional values of the Instant Noodles:
- Salty -The Instant Noodle Chef may be in love with some manufacturers. Up to 4.6 grams of salt is located in the cups investigated, which almost match the recommended daily dose.
- Fet – The tested side -and -ready meals contain different quantities of fat – some cups of up to 17.1 grams per package. This also influences the calories.
- Zucker – You may not expect that, but one of the cups even contains more than two pieces of cubes.
- Additives -“The long ingredient lists in cup belts are striking,” writes Ak Oberösterreich in his report. Long ingredients are not really bad, but in this case additives such as flavor enhancers or stabilizers are mentioned. Especially macabre: in some cups with a “chicken taste” or “beef taste” there is no meat at all. The taste only comes from the additives and the noodles are even vegetarian.
Scripture on package difficult to read
The testers also criticize labeling on the package. You think this is very confusing. “A lot of text and meticulous letters in a delicate script make readability difficult,” notes AK Upper Austria. The noodles are at least cheap: the prices of the Instant Pasta investigated are between 99 cents and 1.99 euros.
