The Austria -Wide Joint Action Day (JAD) was coordinated and managed at the end of February by the State Protection and Intelligence Service Management. Together with the state offices of state protection and exemplary battles (LSE) Lower Austria, Vienna, Upper Austria, Burgenland, Styria, Tyrol and Vorarlberg, house search assignments were carried out at 14 locations. The Cobra Operating Command was also in use. The authorities had ten male suspects in their sights.

The latter led the researchers to the trail of ten other suspects in Vienna, Burgenland, Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Tyrol, Vorarlberg and Styria.
The illegal arms trade is a serious safety problem, the State Police director Franz Ruf said. “Criminals and terrorists do not legally acquire their weapons. To limit or prevent illegal arms trade, causes, sources and buyers must be the purpose of the investigation, “said Ruf.
