A strike in 13 airports in Germany causes the cancellation of 3400 flights

Unemployment affects the operation centers of München, Stuttgart, Colonia/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Hannover, Bremen, Hamburg, Berlin-Brandembourg, Leipzig-Halle or Frankfurt. The strike has forced to change the Lehendakari flight plan that should stop in Germany during his trip to the US.

According to the German Airport Association (ADV), the strike called 13 airports in Germany will influence more than 3400 flights and around 510,000 passengers on Monday.

The German Verdi Union calls to participate in the unemployment of public services and country staff that cleans, loads and replaces the aircraft in the most important centers of Munich operations, Stuttgart, Colonia/Bonn, Düsseldorf, Dortmund, Hannover, Bremen, Berlin-Brandemburg, Leipzigburg.

These strikes will take place before the third negotiation round is held at the end of this month, in which the trade union has already demanded a salary increase of 8 % or at least an increase of 350 euros per month, in addition to higher bonuses and extra free time.

The strike is intended to paralyze air transport in a large part of Germany, where 6,000 flights are produced daily, in addition to another 3000 that cross the German airspace.

In particular, the strike has canceled at least three flights that are planned for today between Germany and the Bilbao Airportand vice versa. For example, the strike has forced to change the Lehendakari flight plan that should stop in Germany during his trip to the US.
