A two-year-old boy played in Hornberg in German Baden-Württemberg in the remote courtyard of his parents, and suddenly disappeared afterwards. After an extensive search, De Kleine Uitbijter was found in the nearby forest – thanks to the recording of a nature camera.
Hundreds of volunteers and professional searches and emergency services participated in the search for the boy, who probably went to the adjacent forest on Tuesday at 4.30 p.m.
Around 5:45 pm the parents reported him as missing. A large contingent arrived to find the toddler, including sniffer dogs and a police helicopter with thermal image camera on board.

A hunter finally delivered the crucial tip. He had seen the child on a recording of one of his nature cameras and informed the police.
This then set up the search radius and was able to safely come up with the child around 11 p.m. on the edge of a path, about a kilometer from his house. Shortly before midnight the boy was transferred to his relieved parents.
