It is unclear whether air traffic can normally continue in the afternoon. Bali is just about 500 kilometers from the province of East -Nusa Tenggara, in which the volcano is located.
Electricity has failed
Local media said that part of the electricity in populated areas around the Lewotobi Laki Laki had failed. Many people fled from their homes during the strongest eruption.
