You do something that you have been doing for years, for decades, but once you do it a little differently – and in the worst case something fatal happens. An operational error may have caused the kitchen fire in the house of an 88-year-old in Ebenthal (Carinthia).
With her oil oven, an 88-year-old in Unterrain wanted to heat the kitchen around 3.40 pm in Unterrain near Eberthal. Shortly after the light, a flame came behind the oven, which eventually set fire to the entire kitchen.
The woman ran out of the kitchen and warned the fire brigade. The FF Zell/Gurnitz, Ebenthal and Mieger have partially removed the fire with respiratory protection. The 88-year-old and her 28-year-old granddaughter were taken to the Klagenfurt clinic with suspected flue gas poisoning.
The cause of the fire was probably a false effect of the oil oven. The amount of damage is not yet known.
