The measure applies on 25 March to around 532,000 people from Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti and Venezuela, who were allowed to fly directly to the US.
The Trump government has ensured that it will withdraw the legal protection of the status of more than half a million migrants who were legally entered within a temporary work program in 2022.
The notification published on Friday by the Federal Register, which will be formalized on 25 March, applies to around 532,000 people from Cuba, Nicaragua, Haiti and Venezuela, who were allowed to fly directly to the US after they had requested it from abroad, as reported by the Bloomberg Agency.
That is why, as reported by the Department of National Security, more than half a million people will lose their legal status from the end of April, so those who have no other legal basis for staying in the country will have to leave or will be deported.
The elimination of the probation program, known as CNHV, is a significant increase in the repression of immigration under the presidency of Donald Trump, which extends the application of the law to cover many migrants that have legally entered the United States and who have no criminal record, according to the above -mentioned agency.
The CNHV program was implemented by the previous president, Joe Biden, as a legal alternative to the dangerous border crossings. Trump has been criticizing these types of programs for some time, given they illegally and compares them with open border policy.
