Fatal Snorkeltrip – Tourist (39) died in Bali in Booton accident

Date:

A snorkeling trip on the Dream Island of Bali in Indonesia took a tragic turn on Friday: the boat with 13 people on board, including eleven tourists from Australia, then capsized waves. A 39-year-old woman did not survive the accident.

The Sea Dragon 2 traveled from a port on Bali to Nusa Penida when the boat was flooded by a high wave, the local police spokesman Agus Widiono described the accident.

Hoehe Wave made a boat to capsize
The 39-year-old Anna Maree was thrown overboard and another wave finally kept the vehicle. A boat in the neighborhood hurried to help the ship and was able to fish twelve survivors from the water. Only the body from the sea could be found by Maree, said Widiono.

Two tourists were injured in the accident and were treated in a hospital – they must be in a stable state.

In recent years, hundreds of tourists in Indonesian waters have killed gaps in boats. The vehicles are often overcrowded and the safety regulations are only insufficiently enforced. In 2018, more than 150 people drowned when a ferry sank into one of the deepest lakes in the world on the island of Sumatra.
