The second highest political office in Austria was first dressed by freedom. The lower Austrian Walter Rosenkranz speaks in the “Krone” interview about democracy, criticism of his person, the secret of Kickl and answers whether he is “right”.
“Krone”: Mr. Rosenkranz, you have visited Villach as part of the opening of the “Parliament on Tour”, which is supposed to strengthen democracy as an info point – what do you think of our democracy?
Walter Rozenkrans: Our Austrian democracy is a good one, a stable. We still draw on our constitution from 1920 today. From the top of the state to the municipal councils we have a convincing system. Many other states that have come to a Democratic Republic have taken over parts of our Constitution. Of course there are people who are not satisfied with politics. But that does not mean that they would reject democracy. In general everything goes well. Nevertheless: nothing can be administered in the development of a democracy. Time is always a test bench – the challenges are different from 100 years ago. Yes, you can reform, modernize on certain points.
