A person died on Monday afternoon during an apartment fire in the Olympic village in Innsbruck. Nothing is known for the exact course of the tragedy, the police have investigated.
As the police confirmed, a person died in the fire. However, their identity was initially unclear, just like the exact course of the fire.
The fire broke out in an apartment of a building with a high clearance at Innsbrucker Schützenstraße around 4 p.m. Siren alarm was activated, the fire brigade entered a large contingent rescue workers and was able to extinguish the flames.

It was not yet clear how the fire could come about. On Monday evening the fire brigade researchers of the criminal police station were still on site.
