A 57-year-old from Vienna looked for her cigarettes, shrugged completely and hit her husband with the rolling pin until the handles broke. The suspect stated in court that she “certainly did not” want to kill her partner.
“My head was so full, it was like the whole world was in my head,” Elvija told Judge Eva Brandstetter and the jury. She could barely sleep, stopped taking the pills she needed after almost 30 years – “and I couldn’t have sex with him anymore either”. He – that’s been her partner for decades, whom she “certainly did not want to kill”, only “beat” with anger. Because he had no idea where she had lost her cigarettes!
Injuries were not life-threatening
The woman (lawyer Thomas Preclik/Kanzlei Pfeiffer) is charged with attempted murder for hitting his head so hard that the rolling pin’s handles broke off! A “dangerous story” for the court expert. But the injuries were not life-threatening. So the jury returned aggravated assault: 15 months, 12 of which were probation.
