The 18 -month prison sentence of the upper Austrian, convicted of embezzlement and fraud in 2022, would have been served for a long time. But followed by a reimbursement for enforcement after the other. The list of diseases reads worries, but the Linz Higher Regional Court has no mercy.

In a few weeks, the ex-finance minister Karl-Heinz Grasser will have to start his prison sentence. He cannot be hired – unlike a current case from Upper Austria, which shows that the detention is also flows into prison. Predicate: Not worth imitating.

Long list of serious diseases
In 2022 the man was sentenced to a partial imprisonment of 18 months for defamation, embezzlement and fraud by the Regional Court of Steyrr. But it happened that he pushed the prison up several times.

Once due to surgery on the left hip joint and rehabilitation. Then because of an operation on the right hip joint, which the convicted person but not on the agreed date did not notice. This was followed by a syphilis disease and a small cerebral infarction

After the stabilization was expected, the last postponement was limited on February 15, 2025. On 11 February 2025, however, the convicted person again applied for a fine: he suffered from HIV in the final phase. The first court did not agree this time, so the man filed a complaint with the Linz Higher Regional Court. This explains: “The current state of illness has been assessed by the expert. A disease, in the final phase,” cannot be called fug afterwards, “says the decision.

The first sentence must be carried out immediately
The increased danger of infection of prisoners and judicial guards is also no reason for a reputation. “The imprisonment must be carried out immediately,” writes the higher regional court immediately. Three years after his conviction, the notorious prisoner must now be inside.
