After a large avalanche risk (level 4) on Monday, the danger level drops to 3 – considerably in Tyrol on Tuesday and Wednesday. Nevertheless, worries are growing, because danger level 3 is the most accident. And on Wednesday it will attract many in the area in beautiful weather.
The predictions have gathered: in the most rainy areas of Tyrol, such as in the Zillertal Alps, about half a meter of fresh snow fell on the mountains on Monday. “If you add on Saturday, then up to 1.20 meters of snow,” says Christoph Mitterer of the Tyrolean Avalanche Warning Service.
Avalium Warning Level 4 More than 2200 meters in the northern Zillertalers, the Venice and Glockner Group on Monday was the right consequence.
On Tuesday a “sharp” level 3 will continue at high locations. Also on Wednesday the avalanche risk in Tyrol must remain considerable – level 3. Then the situation – as usual in the spring – should relax quickly.
Fire -Dang -like combination
But: good weather is predicted for the first time this week. The combination with danger level 3 looks threatening. Because on the first beautiful day after bad weather a particularly large number of things goes to the outdoor space. At the same time, the statistics say that most accidents take place if there is a significant risk of avalanches. Absolute caution is advised!
