Self-declared invalid – Navalnaya: “Putin is not our president”

Date:

The widow of late Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny has called for Russian President Vladimir Putin’s re-election not to be recognized. “Putin is not our president,” she said in a video released Tuesday.

She herself cast an invalid vote in the presidential elections at the embassy in Berlin on Sunday (see video above). Yulia Navalnaya wrote her late husband’s name on it. He once wanted to become president of Russia himself. “We will ensure that no one in the world recognizes Putin as the legitimate president, that no one sits at the negotiating table with him,” Navalnaya said.

Money for the army and propaganda
The Kremlin had already accused Navalnaya, who is also protesting against Putin at EU level, of losing her Russian roots. The 47-year-old announced that she would continue her husband’s opposition work in exile. The ‘Putin mafia’ must be fought as an organized crime organization. Putin’s people stole billions to buy big houses and yachts. The government spends money on the military and propaganda, but not on improving people’s lives.

Moscow’s Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova complained on Tuesday that the opposition had tried to stoke sentiment around the embassy in Berlin with anti-Russian hysteria. The Russian voters in the embassy must be intimidated. “But Putin also won the elections there.” The Central Election Commission awarded the ruler more than 87 percent of the votes. His fifth term will last another six years.

Golos: “Unprecedented manipulation”
Independent Russian election observers from the Golos Organization said the result was achieved with unprecedented manipulation. More than 34 million of the votes for Putin are doubtful. Officially there is talk of 76 million votes for the politician.
