Although many Austrians had set up sunshine and mild spring days for hours, the weekend brings a bitter damper: according to Geosphere Austria, a cold front flows through the country on Saturday – and has thick clouds, an icy northern wind and even snowflakes in their luggage!
Already on Saturday afternoon the front quickly moves from West to the east and creates a gray mood in the air. It usually remains with a few drops, but a few snowflakes of 1200 meters above sea level are also possible in the northern souls – from the Tyrolean Lowlands to the industrial district. In the afternoon there are still mild values with 13 to 23 degrees – but in the evening things go downhill.
Cold air lets -fans shiver
It also remains uncomfortable on Sunday. While the west of Austria are at least temporarily looking for the sun, dense forest clouds dominate and a cutting northern wind in the east that brings polar cold air to the land and even shivering the bravest spring fans. The temperatures: fresh minus three to plus five degrees in the morning, often no more than two to 12 degrees during the day.
At the beginning of the week the weather only calms slowly. In the west the sun often seems, while in the east more and more clouds and the sun only occasionally take place. It usually stays dry, but noticeably cooler – and the wind remains a problem. The temperatures are minus seven to plus one degree early, up to 15 degrees are possible during the day.
Zon shows itself again in the west
Even on Tuesday, the winter does not give up: in the northeast, dense clouds pull through, from which it can even easily rain or snow again. The sun rarely appears there. The photo in the west is completely different: the sun rises more often and the snow line rises quickly from 600 to more than 1000 meters. Again, up to 15 degrees are possible during the day.
Spring returns to the middle of the week
The weather improvement only comes up in the middle of the week. A high -pressure area wins the upper hand, the sun returns and the temperatures rise again – with a maximum of 17 degrees in the west.
