Maul and Claw Disease – Border Controls: Maximum an hour of waiting time

Date:

The border controls as a result of the mouth and mouth disease (MKS) have led to traffic jams and long waiting times on the border of Burgenland on Monday morning. The commuters waited for the entry from Hungary for an hour.

It took the longest in Kittsee (Neusiedl am See District) on the border with Slovakia. There the commuters were in a traffic jam on the Northast Top Mobile (A6) for about 75 minutes, the ÖAMTC reported to the APA.

Tend in the morning rises
At the Hungarian border crossings in Klingenbach (Eisenstadt-UMEb-District) and Ratterdorf (Oberpullendorf District), the waiting time was almost an hour. In Nickelsdorf (Neusiedl Am See District) the Ostautobahn (A4) waited about 45 minutes for arrival.

The tendency was still somewhat increasing in the morning, but a large part of the commuters should already be on the move, the ÖAMTC said.

Design carpets and operating elements
Since Saturday, 24 smaller border crossings in Burgenland and in Lower Austria have been closed due to the mouth and mouth disease. The open is increasingly controlled on the open air and epidemic carpets were also rolled out.

There is an import ban of living paired coasts, as well as fresh meat products from Hungary and Slovakia. 40 soldiers of the federal army were used at the border crossings of Nickelsdorf and Kittsee.

Delays on the limit of the lower Austria can be expected
Delays are expected at the lower Austrian border crossings with Slovakia, said the directorate of the State Police in St. Pölten. Longer waiting times were not reported on Monday (Bruck District) or from Hohenau one of the March (district Gänserndorf). According to spokesperson for the Raimund Schwaigerlehner police, three epidemic carpets were laid out in Berg. There are two for car traffic, another on the bike and the sidewalk.
