Several people were injured in the crash of a hot air balloon on Saturday morning in the Kirchschlag area of Bucklige Welt (Lower Austria). According to Sonja Kellner, spokeswoman for the Lower Austrian Red Cross, two prisoners were seriously injured and seven other people suffered minor injuries.
The course of the accident was initially unclear. The two seriously injured were taken to hospital by helicopter, Kellner said. Two helicopters were in action.
According to the waiter, there were a total of nine people in the hot air balloon. Four rescue vehicles were deployed by the Red Cross and the district manager of operations was also on site.
