Five children were orphaned in one fell swoop. On January 8 of this year, a 46-year-old allegedly shot his wife (42) with a pistol in Weißenkirchen im Attergau. Today, Thursday, the man will appear in court.
The 46-year-old confessed from the start. The former hunter, who quit his job shortly before the crime, had no criminal record for the crime and was legally in possession of the murder weapon and three other weapons. If convicted of murder, the man faces a life sentence.
No motive mentioned
Although the 46-year-old admits to the crime, he gave no specific reason, according to the prosecutor – only that there were repeated relationship disputes and constant provocations by his wife. However, he was unable or unwilling to state the reason for the crime.
Couple wanted to emigrate
The couple had apparently planned to emigrate to Sweden against the background of the corona measures. But there was agreement on that. The two have three children of primary school age together, two of which come from a previous relationship with the woman.
