Solaris reaches contracts in Sweden to deliver 170 electric buses for more than 100 million euros

Most of these units will serve in urban and suburban areas of Stockholm. In 2024, Solaris already supplied another 55 electric buses to the noble operator Sverige AB for different lines of the Swedish capital.

The Solaris Company, from the CAF group, has reached two contracts in Sweden for a total amount of more than one hundred million euros to deliver 170 electric buses to the Scandinavian country.

According to CAF, most of these units, 89, correspond to an agreement signed with the noble operator Sverige AB and they will be intended to serve in Stockholm’s urban and suburbs.

There is the circumstance that Solaris already supplied another 55 electric buses to the same operator last year for different lines of the Swedish capital, as well as 28 units for the province of Escania, south of the country.

The second contract has been signed with VR Sverige AB, one of the most important public transport operators of Sweden, who will receive 81 electric buses from the same electric model that will be included in various services for the suburbs in 2026, also in Stockholm.

CAF details that “mark a new step in the direction of zero missions mobility in the Nordic country, where the growing role of this type of transport stands out.”

Solaris has been present on the Swedish market since 2003, where around 800 buses have supplied, including clean vehicles, propelled by batteries and hydrogen.
