Without a mother, three kittens were found completely helpless on a large construction site in the city center of Innsbruck. The search for mother was actually a successful days later, now the family in the Mentlberg Animal Shelter is happy again.
This happy ending is almost a small miracle, says Sabine Oberhöler-Sturm, head of the cat department in the Mentlberg Animal Shelter. On March 31, the nearly three -week -old kittens drawn attention to the large construction site in Innsbrucker Adamgasse through heartbreaking meows. The mother, who probably gave birth to the boys in the construction site, had disappeared. “Probably because of the construction sound.”
Squat under a radiator
The finder of the helpless catchildren, who squatted on the ground floor under a radiator, immediately called into the hiding place. Moments later she brought an employee of the Animal Welfare Association to Mentlberg.
The trio was clearly healthy, but needed 24-hour care, including food with breeding milk every five hours. Elise took this task of the cat department. The three rackers also went temporarily to her home.
In the meantime they tried to find the mother of the enchanting babies. “We have set up a live fall near the site,” says Sabine Oberhöler-Sturm. And indeed: after two days the cat mother fell into the fall. And so the cat family was fortunately united in the shelter on 2 April.
Mother took her boys back with you again
“The child immediately accepted the boy well,” says Oberhöler-Sturm. It was not necessarily to be expected. In any case, the breeding milk can be exchanged from the bottle for breast milk.
The quartet lives in a comfortable room with a lot of hiding and playing options that use the little ones with joy. The young people are developing very well.
Hales is missing for the time being
The Copest is used to people, but the owner has not yet reported it. After four weeks, the Animal Protection Association appears as holder of the quartet, as a result it is possible to mediate. However, the mother is sterilized in advance.
