The Brandbrigade in the Rossal (Carinthia) in the early morning hours: a farm building burned light -modes due to unknown cause, the nearby residential building was in danger.
“When we arrived on the spot, the heat radiation was huge,” reports operating manager Peter Ogris of FF St. Margareten in the Rosental. “There were a total of six fire brigades with around 136 men.” It was immediately clear that the house in St. Margarets was also in danger. “It is slightly less than six meters away, we protected it against the enormous heat with a water wall,” said Ogris.
By arriving quickly from the emergency services, the fire was quickly brought under control. “The fire was actually extinguished around 6.30 am, but now the reversal work is still underway,” Ogris explains. “There are still piles in the former stable, in which fire nerves continue to appear.”
The location of the farm building is a special challenge. “It is right next to the B85. It is now closed between Niederdörfl and St. Margarets, and a local distraction has been set up,” explains the head of the operations. The cause of the fire is still unclear. “The assignment will certainly last until the afternoon or early evening,” emphasizes Peter Ogris.
