In the future, drivers in Innsbruck will have to dig deeper: after Easter the costs in the short parking zones and parking streets will be raised again. The Green Mobility City Council Office states, among other things, that the increase in parking costs “is an important contribution to climate protection”.
The costs in the managed zones of Innsbruck will rise from one euro to 1.10 euros per half hour from 22 April, from Tuesday after Easter. “This means that the change in the Innsbruck Parking Ordinance 2014 will take effect in the March municipal council,” says it.
The increase applies to both the reimbursement -based short parking zones and in the costs that costs for costs.
Vending machines converted, also affected by mobile phone brands
The parking card machines in the affected zones will then be converted from 22 April into the new fee – and the providers of the Mobile Phones brand would also compensate for the new rate from this date.
In the 90 -minute zones, drivers will have to burst 3.30 euros per 90 minutes in the future. 6.60 euros are three hours of parking in the zones of 180 minutes. This rate must also apply in the parking streets, but with a cap. This means that nine euros will be paid in the future for all parking spaces – the daily maximum amount is currently eight euros.
The city justifies the increase
“Increasing parking costs is an important contribution to climate protection and the fairer distribution in public space and is intended as a different impulse, for example to switch to public transport or bicycle. Moreover, the legal possible scope is used to expand the financial options in budgetary challenges,” says the city.
