A mild spring evening ended in shock for different people: in the early morning hours the Purgstall came to the Erlauf (Scheibbs District in Lower Austria) during an event on Friday at a tent fire. 14 people were injured.
Panic among the guests: the night trip to the nightmare was for visitors. Nine ambulances from the Red Cross left, the somewhat injured were brought to the surrounding hospitals.
Wind threatened to sparks again
The local fire brigades of Purgstall, Feichsen and Scheibbs were warned. When the emergency services arrived, the fire was usually restricted, but the refreshing wind threatened to lift the flames again.
The fire brigade struggled with reversal work to prevent the flames from spreading to adjacent tents and trees. Only by rapid intervention could be prevented.
