Emergency strips in use – Aircraft on flames: 282 passengers evacuated

Shock in Orlando: Shortly before departure, the engine of a Delta machine suddenly was on fire on Easter Monday. 282 passengers and twelve crew members can be brought to safety just in time.

The Airbus A330 of the American Airline Delta Air Lines would start on Monday morning to Atlanta in Georgia from Orlando International Airport in Florida (US).

But shortly before the departure there was a dangerous incident: according to the US Air Ride Supervision Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), a motorcycle caught fire while the machine was just pushed away from the passenger bridge.

The pilots immediately activated the alarm. The 282 passengers and ten stewardesses had to leave the plane through emergency slips. According to information from the American Airline Delta Air Lines there was no injuries.

Videos on social networks show meter -high flames that are beaten out of the rear machine – thick clouds of smoke drawn over the airport. On board the flight in 1213 there was a lot of operation: the popular “Spring -Break” holidays tend to end, many travelers started their journey home.

The cause of the fire so far unclear
According to the airport, the fire brigade quickly brought the fire under control after all passengers were safe. Why the fire broke out is still unclear. Mechanics must now determine the cause. The passengers later continued their journey with a replacement machine.
