The cheat sheet was yesterday, today the artificial intelligence (AI) students are on the side of dizziness with their infinite knowledge. But how can that be prevented? In any case, not like an East Tyroolean school tried …
Pupils in the federal gymnasium and the federal real Hydics Lienz were recently quite irritated by paper that was presented to them in the classroom. A prescription, as it says in the head. These must sign the young people and – as it is written in the explanation – confirm “honesty when performing their own performance”.
“Serious consequences” addressed
The paper is fairly explosive. It shows how schools struggle for the right remedy for artificial intelligence (AI) as a dizziness. With the honorary statement, the East -Tyrolean students must ensure that they have written school work and tests “without outside help”. Moreover, you must confirm that you are aware that “the use of unauthorized aids violates the law”. And to put the entire emphasis, the statement ends with the words: “I know about the serious consequences of the above violation of the law”.
The newspaper did not miss the effect. Students and parents are alerted. “Can the school?” Is the legitimate question. The “Kroon” got the prescription. The Association ‘Tyroolean Parents was also informed. This became active and was asked in other federal states and in the educational directorate. On request, the Association of Tyrolean Parents states: “According to the Federal Parental Association, a procedure such as in Lienz in this form is not known in another state.”
Directorate Education stops
The parents’ association rejects the measure, but at the same time states that the side of teachers and school leaders can also be understood if one can clearly no longer get “problem classes” in other ways. Nevertheless: “There are many other pedagogically sensible opportunities that harmonize with school law.”
The educational directorate also sees it in this way and gives the East Tyrolean eerever statement a cancellation. “Such a procedure is not dealt with in terms of school law,” says it compared to the “Kroon”. The school was instructed to stop this immediately.
Director: “Discussion necessary”
The “Kroon” also asked director Roland Rossbacher. This does not want to comment on the rough of the educational directorate. The instruction must be taken into account. In general, however, the director states that the phenomenon still influences all schools and that an open discussion about it is needed: “We must all consider how we deal with the subject.” At least that is what the director is right.
