The process started almost two years after the mysterious poisonous mushroom death of three people in Australia. In July 2023, the 50-year-old defendant served high toxic tuber mushrooms in July 2023. Three guests were killed, the fourth barely survived.
It turned out later that in the food – beef fillet in puff pastry, refined with mushrooms – were probably very toxic tuber pastries. Poisoning with these mushrooms is extremely painful and usually fatal. According to experts, the consumption of 50 grams of a green turmeric chair can lead to multiple organ failure. If the first symptoms such as malfunctions occur, this is often too late.
After dinner, three guests were dead, the fourth spent a few months in the hospital and hardly survived. The suspect was arrested a few months after death and searched for her house. Since then, the mother of two children has been in custody near Melbourne. According to the Australian media, the procedure that just started will probably take five to six weeks.
Observed procedure without word
So far, the suspect has claimed her innocence and observed the beginning of the legal proceedings without a word. After lunch, the 50-year-old started that she had prepared the dish with fresh mushrooms from a supermarket and with dried mushrooms from an Asian store. Forensic tests later showed that the guests had eaten the very poisonous tuber mushroom, also known as the “Death Cap”.
“Treated untreated or too late is death between the 3rd and 10th day in the hepatic coma and/or due to failure of several organizations,” experts said. The Australian broadcaster ABC even accompanies the process with its own podcast called “Mushroom Case Daily” (for example in German, for example: mushroom process daily).
