These are the results of a representative online survey by the Integral Opinion Research Institute. At the same time, only 16 percent of Austria would defend military, including 27 percent of men and nine percent of women.
“The majority of the population is concerned about the loss of the political center,” says Integral Managing Director Bertram Barth in a broadcast. Most (59 percent) see a danger in right -wing political forces, 44 percent are concerned about the reinforcement of left -wing troops.
Four out of ten consider authoritarian rule possible
According to the survey, about four of the ten respondents (43 percent) consider it possible for an authoritarian rule such as that of the Nazi regime to be repeated. Even more (62 percent) feel reminded of the events that have led to the rule of the national socialists through the current political and social situation.
At the same time, a quarter of the opinion has too much talk about the role of Austria in the Second World War. Among them are mainly respondents close to the FPö, said it. More than every third person (35 percent), however, finds that too little is being discussed. Slightly less (30 percent) regards the extent suitable.
