A motorist (82) in the eastern Styrian town of Little Zell should have been blinded by the low sun on Friday evening: she collided with a 30-year-old motorcyclist. Both persons were seriously injured.
The 82-year-old from the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld district was about to turn left on federal highway 415 around 7:50 PM. She overlooked the approaching motorcyclist. There was a collision, the motorcyclist was thrown in the direction of a meadow and, according to the Wenigzell fire brigade, remained in a ditch.
Alcohol test was negative
The rescue helicopter Christophorus 16 brought the seriously injured to the state hospital in Hartberg, the driver was taken by the Red Cross to the Marien Hospital in Vorau. She could explain that she was blinded by the low sun. The alcohol tests were negative and the vehicles were badly damaged.
