The previously free parking space north of the St. Pöltner Central Station is now subject to a fee. A barrier factory has started working since the start of this week. Immediately in the city center, an underground parking space costs a lot of nerves in Autokern …
Parking spaces and the St. Pöltner City Center – two terms that are mainly concerned in the capital of the state: emotions. Communits in particular were an absurdity for a long time to pay for a parking space close to the center. Until the start of this week, free parking was still possible at an unpaved area north of the main train station. Due to a lack of markings on the ground, there were years for “fighting” for free places. If you were lucky, you found a free parking space in the early morning, if you were unlucky, you came back in the afternoon and found your car completely parked in the chaos.
1.50 euros per hour
Now the city of this parking gourmet has a bar or better: a barrier. The advantage: it is now much more classified. The disadvantage: it costs now! The majority of the 100 parking spaces are available for short parkers for 1.50 euros per hour, the daily maximum value is set at 15 euros. There are no tickets, instead the license plate is included when entering. When it comes to the exit, you have to pay with ATM or credit card, no cash is accepted.
The fact that it is sometimes no less chaotic in the paid parking garages in the center, shows a glance at the underground parking lot of Karmeliterhof – those underground parking spaces that were advertised three years ago in the town hall as a sufficient replacement for the left parking space (and the missing garage) on the Cathedral Square. But only because free areas are displayed, this does not mean that there are also some.
Reserved areas are also “free”
Because the display system praises parking spaces without cars. However, it does not matter whether it is actually only for a special reserved sustainable parking spaces. It can therefore happen that it is impossible for car drivers to find a parking space, although 60 must be free. “Here you will be lured for free under false condition,” is a steering wheel irritated.
