“It’s a shame about the goods” – Why breeders have to throw away meat from kilos.

A few Mühlviertler -Fokker has to throw away 200 kilograms of meat every week. They even offer the carcasses of their slaughtered chickens for free for picking up and actively turn to large kitchens in the houses or hospitals of old people. But they reject – the “crown” asked why.

As is known, chicken soup is healthy and a chicken farmer from the Mühlviertel gives away the most important ingredients – but the potential customers are reserved. “We have long been annoying that we often don’t even get feedback from large kitchens – for example from the houses, schools or hospitals of old people,” says Thomas Köpplmayr (33), who, with his wife Katharina (31), leads the “Schwarethof” in Feldkirchen/Danube in the third generation.
