When several municipalities merged in the Hermagor district in 2000, the goal was clear: bundle troops to cope with tasks that a single municipality cannot do. Today – 25 years later – the Community Association is much more than one administrative unit. “At that time we played a groundbreaking role with the Karnische Region Community Association,” says district captain Heinz Pansi, who also works as director of the association. After all, even today, there is hardly any other community association in Austria and that in Hermagor. Why is that?
