Not a nice sight for fans of historical companions: a VW beetle is completely burned out on Sunday in Kremsmünster (Upper Austria). The driver was able to park his classic car on the road just in time.
The driver of the VW Beetle – the vehicle is considered the classic under the classic cars – used the sunny Sunday for an exit in the upper Austrian Kremsmünster. It ended with a fiasco in front of the steering wheel: his car flew on fire, completely burned out.
“Car was already in full fire”
Around 10.30 am the Kremsmünster and Krühub fire brigade were warned on the vehicle fire on the outskirts of Kremsmünster. “When we arrived, the car was already in full fire,” reports operations manager Andreas Gesleitner at the “Krone”. By using foam, the Florianis were able to control the fire quickly. However, there was not much left of the classic car.
The cause of the fire is still unclear
What the Flames had activated in the historic VW beetle is still unclear. The driver could park his companions on the side of the road – nobody was injured. The police temporarily blocked the affected road section for traffic.
