Austrian pharmacologist Markus Zeitlinger advises not to wait for the modified Covid vaccines, which will probably be available from the autumn.
Given the study data available to date, it makes little sense to “dive through” the summer for vaccination reasons and only get the fourth suture with a modified corona vaccine. “From my point of view, I don’t recommend this to anyone because the modified vaccines will not bring a huge benefit,” Zeitlinger told the Ö1 “Mittagsjournal” on Tuesday.
Vaccinate as soon as possible
In doing so, he joins EU Health Commissioner Stella Kyriakides, who also recommended on Monday that “get vaccinated and strengthened as soon as possible”. the Member States urged them to immediately offer a second booster vaccination to all over-60s and all other vulnerable people. “There’s no time to lose,” she insisted.

Studies from Israel: “Fourth Stitch Works”
A study from Israel published in March shows that elderly people who received a second booster of the Biontech/Pfizer vaccine had a 78 percent lower death rate than those who received a booster alone. According to another study, the number of antibodies against the pathogen increases fivefold within a week. Israel has been offering a second booster vaccination since January.
Another Israeli study suggests that a fourth vaccination is a good idea after the third wears off. As far as we know, this will be the case after about six months. It would then restore the optimal achievable state, scientists say.
