A 22-year-old on Saturday in Vorarlberg caused not only many people to worry, but also a large contingent of fire, rescue, police, water and mountain rescue had to go out for a major search.
Saturday morning between 6.30 and 7.30 am, the 22-year-old man, who drove his car from Müselbach towards Egg, must have left the L200. He drove over an embankment and eventually got stuck with his car between the trees.
The “error pilot” hid the accident car with bushes and branches and then disappeared from the accident site in an unknown direction. After the abandoned car involved in the accident was later discovered, but the driver could not be reached and could not be found after cell phone tracking, a major search was launched in the vicinity of the accident site. Nearly fifty emergency services from the fire, police and mountain rescue services, as well as the Libelle police helicopter, were looking for the missing person.
He was finally found around noon in a clearing in the woods near the accident site. He appeared visibly confused and, according to the police, was unable to provide any information about the course of the accident. An alcohol test performed on the driver of the accident, who was taken to Dornbirn Hospital for further medical clarification, was positive.
