The Spittal fire brigade in Carinthia was called for an animal action on Saturday evening. Three kittens had fallen into a 30-foot pit.
The three kittens made aware of their plight on Saturday night with loud whimpers and meows that could be heard through the wall. They had fallen into a wall in a nine-meter-deep installation shaft.
“The young cats could be located using a special endoscope camera. In consultation with the owner, we were allowed to open the wall to the shaft,” says the volunteer fire brigade Spittal an der Drau.
Kittens are fine
With the help of demolition hammers and percussion drills and with the heavy physical effort of the rescuers, the three kittens were finally rescued after more than four hours.
