Blackout in Spain – First Hot Trail, but nobody wants to blame

Date:

The Mega -Black -Out from April in Spain and Portugal hurried for a long time. Now the path leads to South Spain. According to the Ministry of Energy, the failure of a single substation in Granada started a chain reaction that paralyzed the wealth grid within 25 seconds. And yet nobody wants to blame!

Spain and Portugal were adopted on April 28, which should never actually happen: a huge power failure loses large parts of both countries. Millions of people suddenly stood in the dark, trains stopped, traffic lights failed, had to close supermarkets – and that in the middle of the day.

Netz collapsed within 25 seconds
Now the Spanish Minister for Energy Sara Aage has announced new details about the incident. According to the first results of the study, the cause in the province of Granada could be. At exactly 12:32 pm one of the 47 national substations failed. And it all had it: fewer than 25 seconds later, the network collapsed in different regions – a chain reaction that is otherwise only known from specialized books.

Especially in sight: the village of Alhama de Granada. Although it is currently considered a “suspect”, so far it is not concrete proof of her role in the electricity drama.

Electricity giants reject every debt
The two largest suppliers of electricity in the state – Red Eléctrica and Endesa – meanwhile gave themselves innocent. Internal exams would not have made any mistakes in their high -voltage networks. Means: The error can be in the current -reduction levels – for example in regional distribution stations or even in individual power plants.

Spain is looking for the Stream-Sins
So who has activated the black -out chaos? Nobody can take responsibility (or will). The official investigations are in full swing, but it is already clear: the incident puts the Central Power Grid to the test – and heats the political debate.

Because in particular regions such as Murcia, who have been bonding for years for investments in the ailing power -grid, now feel their chance: they are calling for a fair redistribution of resources and warned that their urgent required projects can now be canceled in favor of new “black -out”.

Ministry of Environment Juan Marín Vázquez, for example, warns: “Spain is not allowed to make the strength an excuse to further disadvantage regions such as Murcia.” He demands: “More money for the net – but please spread honestly!”
