A prisoner (37) arrived in the prison in Puch on Thursday afternoon. 16 hours later the Tyrolean was dead in the camera -mounted detention room. An autopsy should now clarify the cause of death. The public prosecutor is informed and is waiting for the investigation of the forensic doctors.
A mysterious death took place on Friday evening, around four o’clock, in the Puch Justice – the only prison in the state of Salzburg. A prisoner who came to a single cell at his own request was found dead by Justiwach Course. This is confirmed by chief inspector Johannes Ebner from Pucher Prison: “The prisoner was in custody for the first time. In the afternoon he came to the judiciary at noon. After a conversation about the measures, he was spent in a video -mounted individual habit.”
Around four o’clock the Tyrolean (36) could no longer be seen on the camera. In the subsequent assessment, officials discovered him to death on the spot. “The rescue chain was immediately started and a resuscitation was also tried by colleagues. But the emergency doctor who arrived could not save life,” Ebner emphasized to the “Krone”. According to the time of death, the police and the office of the public prosecutor were informed, as is common in such cases. An autopsy must clarify the cause of death.
Because: Ebner certainly excludes self -fault as a suicide. And a criminal approach is also completely unlikely for the chief inspector. The “Kroon” asked in detail if a person could penetrate the cell. Ebner denies this: “The detention room is closed and the video monitors.”
Officer -Office ordered autopsy
With the exception of the controlling officials, the affected prisoner was only in the cell and that more than hours. Recordings of the security camera cannot provide information because they are not stored for legal reasons. The most plausible explanation would be a medical emergency, for example a heart attack.
The Salzburg public prosecutor confirmed the death and initiation of a study – a common process to have an autopsy arranged. “We are waiting for the result,” said spokeswoman Ricarda Eder. According to the “Krone” information, the Tyrolean had four criminal registers for small crimes.
