In Annif (Salzburg) there was a house fire in the night of Saturday. 15 people had to be taken to the hospital with suspicion of flue gas poisoning.
When the fire brigade arrived, there were still numerous people in the residential building with several parties. The residents of the top floor were no longer able to leave this independently due to the smoke development on the ground floor. The fire brigade had to save people over the balconies using air ladder.
Of the total of 38 people who were in the building at the time of the fire, 15 had to be brought into the surrounding hospitals with suspected flue gas poisoning.
The fire brigade, in use with 65 forces, was able to quickly extinguish the fire. An e-bike battery is suspected as the cause of the fire that may be inflamed during a charging process.
The building may not be entered for the time being. The residents were housed until further notice in the house of the seniors of Niederalm.
Significant damage to real estate has been created.
