After almost 70 years, a Carinthian wants to meet two sisters from Burgenland again and asks the readers of “Krone” for support.
Friendship lasts forever! A 91-year-old Carinthian trusts in this wisdom. In the 1950s he had a great relationship with two sisters from Burgenland and spent a lot of time with them in Switzerland until they lost touch. Nearly 70 years later, the merry senior goes in search of the old girlfriends and asks the police for help.
The Carinthian Willi Müller met and fell in love with the Burgenland siblings in Switzerland in 1952. In the Thurgau cardboard they had worked in agriculture and in a tailor’s shop. “We developed a very close friendship from the start,” says the 91-year-old. In March 1954 they separated.
Exactly one year ago, in the summer of 2022, the girlfriend of that time suddenly received a call from one of the two sisters from Pamhagen. “After almost 70 years, she found me again. I was overjoyed. But the call was abruptly cut off. The connection suddenly dropped and could not be restored,” says Willi Müller.
Write to the municipality and the police
The 91-year-old now wants to build on the fond memories of the fifties. He went looking for the sisters. However, he says he has not received an answer to a personal letter to the municipal office in the Neusiedl am See district. With the note “Concerns two girls from Pamhagen (brothers and sisters)”, Willi Müller has now turned to the local police station. “The two women must now be around 90 years old. Unfortunately I don’t know their names. All I know is that the caller has two sons, one of whom is said to be an engineer,” says the energetic pensioner from Feistritz in Carinthia.
“We have already asked around in Pamhagen, but so far no one has been able to help us,” explains Commander Manfred Bleich. Now the police are trying to use the “Krone” and social platforms on the Internet to find Willis’ friends of old. The 91-year-old sincerely hopes that his heart’s desire to see each other again soon will be fulfilled.
