Albania’s prime minister kneels for Meloni in the rain

The good relationships between Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama are known. On Friday Rama came with a special gesture on the sidelines of the top of the Euopean community in Tirana. The photos then spread virally on the internet.

When Meloni got out of her car, Rama knelt, who waited for her in the rain on the red carpet on Skanderbegplatz, with folded hands, as seen from video recordings. Meloni was shame, smiled and said several times: “Edi, no. Edi, no.”

The relationships between Meloni and Rama have been very good for several years. Rama gave the Italian government the approval for the construction of refugee camps for migrants who are admitted to the Mediterranean Sea.
