Unhappy, the man slept in his own house in the District Mistelbach (Lower Austria) – when he woke up on the back of the head due to a huge blow. Followed by knife stabs by his own brother. The Afghan, who converted to Christianity some time ago, speaks about lack of respect in Korleburg. But: “I love him.”
“What I did is inhuman,” the accused admits to the Regional Court of Koreleuburg. On the night of January 4, he attacked his own brother in his house in a 500-residents community in the District Mistelbach (Lower Austria), while he slept. “He hit him on his head with an empty vodka bottle,” said the public prosecutor.
Messer bent by attack
So violent that the bottles rang. Only to put different knives in his upper body, among other things – the power was so great that it bowed the knife. The Afghan simply left the man bloody. Fortunately, the brother survived a quick help of the salvation, which he informed himself.
Attacker lacks support
But what led to this incredible outbreak of violence? The 41-year-old tries to explain the jury as follows: “I lost everything I had. I went to my brother and expected support.” However, he got the opposite: “With words you can kill more people than with weapons,” says the Afghan, who described himself as a “writer and poet” and asked for respect. “He said something that he hurt me a lot. He said I am useless.”
He then burned the fuses. “My client has lost control of himself,” said his defender Birgit Harold. Nevertheless: “He is not an ice -cold perpetrator. It is not about the origin, religion and clichés regarding violence,” the lawyer appeals to the jury. Especially since the Afghan was converted into a Christian faith after his escape to Austria: “It was baptized by Cardinal Schönborn.” He always had a “conflict -rich relationship” with the brother.
“I love him. I miss him”
However, he cannot confirm that with the police. Because he knows nothing about the dispute that the accused Afghan now describes in court. His perception of the evening: he sat with the 41-year-old, drank one or the other drink and lay on to lay through the huge blow with the glass bottle.
“I am glad he is healthy. I love him. I miss him very much,” says the accused unemployed after he had heard it. Who does not coincide with his information from the police or the forensic medical report from expert Wolfgang DENK. Because he strongly denies the stitches against his brother’s chest.
A judgment is expected before the afternoon. Due to attempted murder, the 41-year-old threatens life in prison.
