Around 6 p.m. a 36-year-old was on the Valley with his mountain bike on the Hochstein in the municipal area of Lienz on the “Family Flow Trail”. At an altitude of approximately 950 meters, he fell for a previously unknown cause and remained seriously injured.
Two boys started a life chain
Two local boys (11 and 12 years old) who traveled on the same path gave the father waiting in the valley one of the boys. The latter went to the scene of the accident, but did not notice any signs of life on the wounded person, put the emergency call and began to resuscitate.
The alarmed rescue workers of the Lienz Mountain Rescue and the Alpine Police took over with the rescue helicopter C7 that is already on site. The seriously injured was brought to the hospital team in Lienz by the emergency helicopter team, where he collapsed with his serious head injury.
Autopsy ordered
The public prosecutor of Innsbruck ordered an autopsy of the accident. After the surveys have been completed, the report will be reimbursed to the responsible bodies.
