The unpopular rodents run through more and more Salzburg communities – also because of the unreachable “animal lovers”. Experts therefore appeal again: please do not sprinkle food for birds or hedgehogs – that attracts the rats!
“Unlike and just terrible!” – Alexander Pichler can hardly stop. Rats have been around the garden of his house in EIF for a while. “I can’t even leave the door open anymore. Otherwise you can still have the rodents in the kitchen,” he is. And: “A neighbor feeds all birds on a large scale in her garden and attracts the rats. It has been the case for a long time.”

The situation is the procedure, a clarifying conversation between Buren was not successful. The municipality also knows the problem.
In a current circular state: “We want to inform you that the observations of rats in the municipal area have recently been reported. Avoid feeding or provoking rats.”
Even with a local inspection around Alexander Pichler’s house, the “Kroon” discovered a deceased rat within a few minutes – apparently bitten by a cat. “In the meantime, I already see mothers with their young animals,” Pichler complains.
Otherwise you would get the problems under control
But the unloved rodents not only run around in EIF, there were also problems with rats in many other Salzburg communities – such as in Scheffau, Hüttau and Golling. “We now have the whole thing under control. There are no more reports for rats,” says Gollinger Local Chief Martin Dietrich (Spö). The chamber hunter was on the way in the community. And: “We have sensitized people. You can’t repeat it often enough: don’t sprinkle food – neither for cats, birds or otherwise.”
