“Completely invalid” – Germans were stuck in the snow on the mountain: emergency call!

Date:

Even if you don’t believe it in view of the calendar – there are still deep winter conditions on the mountains! This is exactly what four German walkers felt on Saturday in the Kaiser Mountains in the Tyrolean Unterland. The sometimes completely exhausted quartet no longer took place in the snow. A helicopter had to take off.

Around 8 o’clock in the morning the four Germans had started a tour of the so -called Stripssenjochhaus to Ellmauer Tor. From there, the group then relegated to the Gruttenhütte on the south side of the Wilder Kaiser, so that they can therefore be climbed over the Gamsängersteig to the intersection to the upper shreds floors.

No progress in the snow
A daring project – especially in the circumstances that currently still partly prevail on the Tyrolean mountains. But then the Germans had to feel that. “At an altitude of approximately 2120 meters, the group in the area of the intersection did not return or back due to the snow cushion of about 20 centimeters that prevails there,” the police described in their report.

The Germans did not know any other way out. “The walkers, some of which were completely invalid, made an emergency call,” the researchers continued.

Safe by helicopter
The exhausted mountain birthday quartet can finally be found by the alarmed crew of an emergency helicopter by Dauw and returned to safe soil. They were apparently unharmed.
