Elon Musks Starship makes the headlines again – but not a good one. The ninth test flight of the largest missile system ever was not so hoped. This time the top level brought the space compared to the last two tests -but when she returned the atmosphere, it broke.
For the first time, a lower rocket level was used during this test flight, which was already used during an earlier test flight. However, it was not possible to land them again.
More test flights planned
SpaceX founder Musk still assessed the test as a “big improvement compared to the previous flight”. “A lot of good data” was collected, he wrote on the online platform X (see article below), which is also subjected under his control. The following three test flights must now take place faster in succession, about three to four weeks.
“Unplanned dismantling”
“As if the test flight had not been exciting enough, the spaceship suffered a fast, unplanned dismantling,” said the Space Company SpaceX, founded by Musk. “The teams will look at the data and work on the next test flight.” Satellites should have been suspended – but nothing came of it either.

Starship is larger than the statue of freedom
The spaceship consists of two parts that separate after the start: the top level, which is about 70 meters long booster super heavy and the top level – also known as Starship – measures approximately 50 meters. In general, the system is larger than the statue of liberty.
The Starship Rocket system was tested for the first time in April 2023 and at that time completely exploded after a few minutes. During further tests, the top level reached this and already landed in the Indian Ocean.
